Heteronuclear inorganic molecule enables the direct synthesis of PtCo intermetallic compounds for proton exchange membrane fuel cells

摘要
A small-sized PtCo intermetallic compound (Pt1Co1-IMC) was controllably synthesized via direct pyrolysis of a Pt1Co1 heteronuclear inorganic molecule. The resultant Pt1Co1-IMC/C catalyst not only exhibited high mass activity (0.43 A mgPt-1 at 0.9 V versus RHE) towards the oxygen reduction reaction but also showed a peak power density of 1.06 W cm-2 under an H2-air fuel cell.
